Multi talented sisters, The Collyer Twins, took some time out to wind down, tap into their zen and have a chilled weekend in Yorkshire.
The Designers, DJ’s and Globetrotters, had a Range Rover Autobiography PHEV delivered to them in London for a double date to the award-winning Middleton Lodge estate.
Over to Loanne and Jordan,
“The prospect of a road trip has always excited me - I sometimes think it’s the journey that makes the trip, the excitement, the anticipation, the countdown on the clock and the freedom of driving a car whilst watching the world go by.
So one weekend in June Loanne and I, along with our partners, decided to do a mini staycation at Middleton Lodge in Yorkshire. It’s usually a 5 hour round trip so I knew planning the journey would be an important arrangement.
Living in central London with easy access to most places, owning a car hasn’t been a top priority for either Loanne and I, so whenever I get the chance to cruise In one, (especially a nice one) I get very excited!
My fiancé Charlie is a car fanatic so when he found out we would be taking the new Range Rover Autobiography PHEV for a round trip to Yorkshire with us, he was pretty smug - especially as he insisted on driving!
What was supposed to be a smooth 5 hour trip ended up being a 10 hour trip. We were at a standstill for over half the journey and stuck in the most horrendous traffic. What a godsend that we were riding in the Autobiography (planning your journey after all is KEY!) It was a little piece of luxury that made the long-haul journey not just manageable but easy, it was a truly first-class travel experience with executive size seats, extra leg room and deep cushioning for extra comfort. I even managed to nod off for a good hour whilst enjoying under seat heating. It was that accommodating it even had a mini fridge to store all of our journey snacks (and there were ALOT of them.)
When we finally started moving, it was such a smooth ride, we cruised for the rest of the way watching the Yorkshire dales pass us by and watching the beautiful blue sky through the panoramic roof.
When we finally arrived at Middleton Lodge, a beautiful luxury North Yorkshire estate, we were welcomed with champagne and taken to our beautiful rooms with tin hot tubs in the garden. The weekend was so lovely and we were blessed with such beautiful weather. The weekend consisted of treks around the Yorkshire dales, exploring the quaint little villages and testing out the infamous Yorkshire puddings at gorgeous country pubs.
It was the perfect staycay and even though the boys were a little hesitant about the traffic on the way back, we knew it would be made better in the autobiography PHEV. Anyway we got lucky and didn’t hit an ounce of traffic, it was a smooth journey all the way back. Reminiscing on the weekend, I think I have more memories in the car than hanging out in Yorkshire, like I said it's the Journey that's the most exciting bit…
I'm not quite sure what I miss more... ;)”
