Cambridge, arguably the most beautiful city in the UK, loaded with cobblestone roads, traditional victorian townhouses and of course, the jaw dropping Cambridge University buildings. Besides the history and charm this town boasts, the botanical gardens are the go to place, where you can explore over 8,000 species of plants over multiple landscapes.
For a crisp winter morning stroll, there aren't many finer places to visit. Ponds, wildlife, glasshouses, a grass maze and a lovely cafe, it's got it all. If that's not enough, Cambridge has an array of little gems to uncover.
West Wittering if you haven’t already been, is one of the most cordial beaches in the UK. Just a short two hour drive from London is the dog friendly, sand dune packed beach. Whether it's frisbee throwing, taking your four legged friend for a walk or just a leisurely stroll with your partner, this is the beach for you.
The kilometer long sandy beach is littered with beach huts, sea groins and wildlife. Home to the East Head National trust, and a cafe with all the beach necessities one may need, in our case, a sausage roll and a warm cup of tea.
The magnificent classic country house is situated just outside of London, is the home county of Hertfordshire. Brocket Hall hosts not one but two, full eighteen hole golf courses and seven smaller listed buildings to admire. The grounds and houses are impeccable, making a walk around them a day out to remember.
An excellent 6.6km walk around Brocket Hall and surrounding areas, to then finish off with a homely traditional english pub lunch at The Wagoneers, who would say no to that?
Who knew windmills could be so romantic? With dramatic views across the sweeping wealden landscape, delightfully high ceilings being held up by thick large beams and of course a place to lay your head at night, is this not the most idyllic setting for a night away?
To top it all off, fresh eggs will be in your windmill on your arrival for the next morning. This really is the place to get a breath of fresh air this christmas, and step aside from your busy festive schedule.
The last year has been tough on everyone, to say the least. For most, leaving little time to look after yourself and Christmas is no different, having to cater for the family and of course, organising presents. We urge you to take some self care this christmas and enter 2021 fresh.
What better place to do so, than at the gorgeous 5 star Alexander house? An all inclusive eco detox weekend. With the award winning Utopia spa, amazing restaurants and champagne bars, there's really no better way to end the year.
Nestled right in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside just over an hour from London and sat right by the Thames, you'll find the picturesque town of Kelmscott and the infamous Plough Inn. This delightful Cotswold pub offers beautifully furnished rooms that could quite honestly be featured in Interior decoration magazines, with wooden beams, stone walling and windows that overlook a wonderful cottage garden.
As hard as it will be to leave your lovely room, you cannot miss out of the town of Kelmscott, the quaint and frankly stunning town is home to lots of walks along the river and countryside, shops and cafes. Definitely somewhere to shoot off to to take a breath of fresh air this christmas.
